The pictures to the right are from the Maintenance Data Terminal (MDT) for the FAA ASR-9 and Mode Select Service Life Extension Program.

The MDT consists of several redundant Sun Sunblade workstations and a Linux touch sensitive flat screen connected to a redundant pair of web servers. The workstations run the Mozilla web browser.

The servers are running The Apache Jakarta Tomcat Servlet container and host the Apache Cocoon XML publishing engine. We leverage this combination to generate the MDT pages based on live system data.

A back-end Java NIO networking layer communicates with a distributed C++ radar data processing system which in turn communicates with a set of digital signal processors.
